Our period 13 projects ended recently, and the United Methodist agencies where we worked this period had some wonderful things to say about their teams: "Perfect! Could not have gone any better. Very flexible as weather changed and materials arrived, excellent results and they got a lot done. A very fun group and we all enjoyed having them here and hated to see them go." "The Nomads showed great flexibility. Weather was not the best as rain hit so many were asked to help inside. This project ...
The NOMADS received a lovely card from Midwest Mission Distribution, with thanks for our Sunday worship offering for them, during Annual Meeting in Iowa last month.
Here are some of the latest comments from our agencies where we have had recent projects: "Wonderful! All participated on projects to their capabilities. Nomads differ from most volunteers as they are always willing to take on any task with a smile. None come with their own agenda and our workload is always dictated by the immediate needs of others." "They did an awesome job, great to work with, really enjoyed having this group as well as the groups in the past." "The NOMADS group this time ...
Check out the comments from recent NOMADS projects, by the staff at the agencies we serve: "The Team Leader was organized, efficient, did a great job planning out the work, and was skilled in the work we needed done. They were good natured and communicated well with us. The Team members had a wide range of skills, were cheerful and engaging with our own volunteers who were on site to help them out. This was an outstanding experience. They accomplished so much and were completely delightful. We ...
Our NOMADS are on projects in Maine, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Wyoming this period, assisting United Methodist Churches and UM Church Camps with their necessary maintenance projects. We're also working on building a tiny cabin, a new deck, doing lots of tree cutting, building a shed, building and installing shelves, painting and sealing a log building, and finishing the remodel of a cabin, to include drywall, trim, painting and installing fixtures. Nomads can do it all!
May 11, 2017 Dear Paul, On behalf of the more than 3,000 summer campers and 5,000 guests Glisson will host this year, and all the campers served by our North Georgia Camp and Retreat Ministries, thank you for sharing your time and abilities to make our ministries stronger. You, as NOMADS, provided an invaluable donation of time and service to Glisson. Without your help, we would not be ready for the beginning of summer camp in just a few short weeks! The facilities you’ve worked on will ...
Below is the letter received May 5, 2017, from Providence Place in San Antonio, a partnering agency with the NOMADS: Dear Carla, The mission of Providence Place is to empower young adults with disabilities seeking independent futures and those on the adoption journey. Pat and Gary Russell, as well as many other NOMADS, have been long time advocates for our mission and have proven their dedication to our mission through past projects such as hand-building wheelchair ramps to create ...
