The national United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries (UMCRM) Association, at their biannual gathering in Fruitland Park, Florida, recognized and showed appreciation for the United Methodist NOMADS organization last week. Please pray for thoughtful and God-led deliberations for our Board of Directors, who meet soon in Memphis, Tennessee. Our board meetings are open, except for a couple of times when personnel or general concerns will be discussed. So please plan to sit in on Friday, if you are at the Agricenter and interested in their work for our organization.
We've just completed our first 3 week project for New Hope UMC in North Adams, Massachusetts, and now the second 3 week team is on site during period 10. From the May Newsletter at Hinton Rural Life Center in Hayesville, NC: Hinton Center was happy to host the UMC NOMADS for three weeks during April and May. The NOMADS did far too many projects at Hinton to list them all individually, but their work included painting and repairs in Sells Cottage, Patterson Cottage and Bideaux Hermitage, and work on a new office in the Administration Building.
