NOMADS please check your Friday Oct 7th evening email with signup instructions for using our new project management software to signi up for our Spring 2012 projects, which are now available. Instructions and a list of the Spring projects are also posted in the member's area under the heading PROJECT INFORMATION.
Because NOMADS are typically not immediate responders when natural disasters occur, we've changed the name of our Disaster Response committee to Disaster Rebuilding. NOMADS have skills in construction and in all those trades associated with building. We are also older people, typically retirees, so our skills are more valuable in the rebuilding stage than during the initial cleanup phase of a disaster. Our Spring 2012 projects (for periods 5, 6 and 7) which run from April through May, will be available for signups during the first week of October. Instructions on using our new Project Signup software will be emailed to you or posted on the website for everyone when the projects are ready to go. We're changing how this is done, so you'll really need to read the instructions this time. We are going to ask that leaders sign up for a project before we open it up for others to join the team.
The NOMADS Board of Directors is in Forest City, Iowa for their semi-annual board meeting. The NOMADS office is closed to allow participation in the board meeting by the Program Administrator.
