Birchwood Camp is a well established ministry of hospitality of the Alaska United Methodist Conference; they’ve been doing summer camps since 1961. They are also an ACA accredited camp. Birchwood Camp’s mission is to build community on common ground, offering hospitality to all, and they believe in providing a caring community to all persons.
Birchwood Camp is nestled quietly between the Chugach Mountains and the Cook Inlet in beautiful South-central Alaska. Birchwood is conveniently located 5 miles from the town of Eagle River, where most all of your needs can be acquired. Located only 30 minutes from downtown Anchorage, the population hub of the state. Their 35 acre Psalm Lake is surrounded by 160 acres of pristine Alaskan forest. This serene setting invites guests to let go of the stress and chaos of everyday life and retreat to a special place of peace and tranquility. Open year-round with facilities that can accommodate up to 100 guests. They also provide summer camps for children and teens, as well as some year-round programs for teens and adults. Programs are focused on faith formation, building genuine community, and providing safe spaces for character development in children and teens.
