Weekly Report - Wimberley Disaster Rebuild Feb 24th

Disaster Rebuilding in Wimberley Feb 20 – 23

This week we had 5 RV units on site for our work. We said good bye to Herman and Levina Luymes, Bob and Onne Oelke, and Jeff Ausborn with a dinner at the Italian Garden restaurant. Our mornings were cool but warmed up quickly with daily highs in the mid to upper 80’s. We had a severe thunderstorm move through on Sunday evening into Monday morning with high winds and heavy rain.

We did not work at Cypress Lane this week as we are waiting on tile for the bathroom floor which the home owner is supplying and should arrive this next week.

Lea Lane is a major project where we had sealed the roof last Thursday and on Monday we looked for any leaks. The team celebrated as there was no evidence of any water intrusion. We got the dry wall reinstalled and mudded in the living room on Monday. Tuesday we started the removal and repair of the back outside wall. The team was also working on priming and painting the entire outside of the home. A new ramp and steps were installed at the front of the house.

The coordinators have let us know they have 3 more homes ready for us to start on in the coming week. Work is not a current problem for this project team.
