Weekly Report from Team Wimberley
Wimberley TX Disaster Rebuilding Project – Jan. 23 – 26
Matador St. – In the kitchen the work on the counter tops continued with the Formica cut and glued to the main "L" shaped top along with the island top. The sink hole has been cut out and it was decided to do a 4” high backsplash using ceramic tile. The back entry door was finished as it needed the door stop extended and weather seal installed. The master bedroom – it was decided to not install a sliding (barn type) door for the master bathroom. We installed a 32” door in the opening instead. The water heater is wired and producing hot water. The main bath: we grouted the tiles around the spout area and installed the spout and handles after cleaning them up. The wall that is behind the vanity was finished and texture was sprayed. We will paint it this week and install the lav and vanity as well as the water closet.
Cypress Lane – removed old baseboard trim. New was BB was painted and installed. Drywall and mud around rear door. Painted various doors. Installed kitchen light fixture. Grouted first floor bath surround tile and trimmed out spout, shower valve and head. Installed bi-fold closet door in 3rd bedroom. Made electrical repairs. Patched broken floor tiles with grout. Cut off bottom of door that was sticking on the carpet.
Another home on Cypress Lane – Painted exterior doors. 2 coats
Lea Lane - Demo breezeway roof between garage and house. Demo on 18’ rear porch roof. Both roofs were in very poor condition, leaking, with holes and rotted wood. We replaced bad rafters on the rear porch and dropped the outside beam 2.5 inches to create some pitch away from the house. We also installed purlins to ready the porch for metal next week.
