NOMADS leadership, please continue to pray about how you can help with our summer project leadership needs. Our program just does not work without someone taking the lead organizationally for each project. You do NOT need to "know how to do everything" but being able to delegate, organize and to communicate between the agency and your team members is critical. Please email or call the office if you can help. If you're an experienced leader and might be willing to change projects in order to ...
NOMADS....would you like to see where there are openings this summer and fall? Want to know who's on the teams you've already signed up for? Log in to the member's area and page down to PROJECT INFORMATION. Click on 2011 Summer-Fall teams-updated 4-12-11. Leaders, we NEED YOU to sign up for our summer projects! A team of NOMADS was recently highlighted in the Andalusia Star News.
NOMADS, go check out the spreadsheet with ALL of our recent and/or upcoming Hosting Agency site details, which includes info about the location of their RV sites, what they have for hookups, whether background checks are typically required, whether they allow your pets on a leash while at a project there, what they have for email access, whether they MIGHT have housing available, and other amenties are listed there too. Whenever you are deciding about projects, you'll need to look up each ...
NOMADS’ friends, we encourage you to come to the beautiful Northwest this summer! We have three new projects in Washington state—3 small Methodist churches south of Olympia—in Pe Ell, McCleary, and Tumwater-- who are excited about hosting their first NOMADS’ project. In addition to these new projects, Randle UMC has scheduled another project as well as Camp on the Boulder in Montana and Ten Sleep, Wyoming. We have scheduled these projects consecutively to make your trip west more energy ...
NOMADS...start thinking about your plans for the second half of 2011, as our Summer-Fall Projects list will be out on March 31, 2011. Signups are more casual for this season, as there is less demand and the projects are spread out around the country more so than they are during our busy winter schedule. Signups are first-come, first-served and you are welcome to log in to the member's area and use the project signup form, or to send an email to the office with your project request. You may ...
If you'd like to host NOMADS in the first half of 2012, please apply by March 31st by clicking on REQUEST HELP and following the instructions. New Host Agencies, to qualify, must be United Methodist or have an Advance number which allows for donations through the General Board of Global Ministries. For existing Host Agencies, the process for reapplication that is now online is much simpler than in the past. Please email or call the NOMADS office if you need assistance.
We're in the midst of our winter-spring schedule and the current teams are listed under PROJECT INFORMATION in the member's area of the site. The list is updated each Friday. If there are openings of interest to you, please email the office or fill out the project signup form, also in the member's area.
As you contemplate your NOMADS projects for this fall or for next winter, you may wonder where some of these places are located! Right? Well we now have a great mapping tool for your use. From the website homepage, page down to the map of the United States, click on the state you're interested in, and then click on the site you're wondering about. Not only will you be able to see if on the map, but you can get directions from your address to their address if you like. Fantastic tool for you...
Three years ago, the return rate for project evaluations was a dismal 30%! Within a year we were at 70% and we have maintained that high return rate since. The message is out "We really do read them and use the information to make NOMADS better." Thanks to all of you who return your evaluations! Starting this year, we asked leaders to try to make sure that all project evaluations were returned in one batch. And for the most part this is what has happened! Kudos to our leaders! Our PCC ...
