The staff at the Bashor Children's Home in Goshen, Indiana have awarded the United Methodist NOMADS as their Volunteers of the Year. NOMADS will be recognized at a banquet on the evening of March 18th. Thanks, NOMADS, for making such a great impression and for creating a wonderful relationship with Bashor Children's Home during their first NOMADS project this past August.
NOMADS will be recognized during a luncheon with the Kiwanis club on February 24th and a banquet on Saturday, March 5th by the Chamber of Commerce, for an estimated 10,000 hours of community service in Taft, Texas since first coming here in 2005. Congratulations go out to all of those Nomads that have worked so hard in Taft. It is believed most of the current team will be in attendance at the banquet to speak for all Nomads. As one church member said "I want to be a Nomad when I grow up."
A group of NOMADS in Texas this month set up a booth to raise awareness about NOMADS, at the Gateway RV Park Craft Show in Raymondville, Texas. Our thanks to the Lakies, Schuylers, Goods and Reeders for talking to prospective new NOMADS there. Also pictured is Willacy County sheriff Larry Spence.
