Summer-Fall projects without leaders now open for signups

If you've been waiting to join a team NOMADS, now's your opportunity as we've opened ALL of our projects in 2012 to signups, even if there is not a leader in place. Login to the member's area and use the project signup software, or email or call the NOMADS office for assistance....More fall projects added to schedule

During period 11 we’ve added Ocean Park Retreat Center in Ocean Park, WA, and in period 13 we’ve added Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, IL, Aldersgate Camp in Ravenna, KY and Belle Haven, VA at Occohannock on the Bay Camp. In period 15 we’ve scheduled TMM Family Services in Tucson, AZ and First UMC in Taft, TX, so all of these now have leader openings....Additional mission projects added to Summer-Fall schedule

Camp Kingswood in Minnetrista, MN during period 10 (begins July 16th), Camp Horizon in Arkansas City, KS during period 13 (begins Oct 8th). Both of these projects will require a leader signup prior to them being opened to other signups.

Now available for leader signups: Period 8 in Bigfork, MT at Flathead Lake UM Camp, Period 9 in Rathdrum, ID at Twinlow Camp and in Pontiac, IL at Evenglow Lodge. Also Period 12 in North Webster, IN at Epworth Forest Conference Center and in Topeka, KS at Forest Park Conf and Retreat Center. Recently, we've posted the projects for period 11 in Ten Sleep, WY at Circle J Ranch, period 12 in Lampe, MO at Lives Under Construction, and period 13 in Eva, TN at Lakeshore UM Assembly. Our Spring 2012 projects (for periods 5, 6 and 7) which run from April through May, will be available for signups during the first week of October. Instructions on using our new Project Signup software will be emailed to you or posted on the website for everyone when the projects are ready to go. Our program just does not work without someone taking the lead organizationally for each project. You do NOT need to "know how to do everything" but being able to delegate, organize and to communicate between the agency and your team members is critical. NOMADS, go check out the spreadsheet with ALL of our recent and/or upcoming Hosting Agency site details, which includes info about the location of their RV sites, what they have for hookups, whether background checks are typically required, whether they allow your pets on a leash while at a project there, what they have for email access, whether they MIGHT have housing available, and other amenties are listed there too.

NOMADS...start thinking about your plans for the second half of 2011, as our Summer-Fall Projects list will be out on March 31, 2011. Signups are more casual for this season, as there is less demand and the projects are spread out around the country more so than they are during our busy winter schedule. If you'd like to host NOMADS in the first half of 2012, please apply by March 31st by clicking on REQUEST HELP and following the instructions. New Host Agencies, to qualify, must be United Methodist or have an Advance number which allows for donations through the General Board of Global Ministries.
