New - Promotions Info Packet Updated 10-06-06 Promotional Power Point Presentation Updated 2-07-06 Rudy and Carolyn Morris have developed a Power Point presentation to be used to promote NOMADS. They are making it available to fellow NOMADS at their costs. You can download the presentation or you can order the PPT presentation on a CD or floppy disk and/or a set of color overhead transparencies. There are two different renditions of the presentation. The one labeled “White” means the background is White and is better for printing handouts. The “Blue” one looks better on screen using a projector but needs dim to darker room lighting to be effective. If you arrive in a location and the room is lighter than desired, the “White” program allows the words to be more visible. The files are, NOMADS Blue back.ppt and NOMADS White back.ppt In addition, the regular PowerPoint files have a .PPT file extension and need MS PowerPoint program loaded on your PC to run. The presentations are identical except for the Blue vs. White backgrounds
The show version does NOT require that you have MS PowerPoint program loaded on your PC, but does require PowerPoint Viewer and associated files, a program used to run slide shows on computers that don't have Microsoft PowerPoint installed. Recently I discovered that the Show mode requires not only PPViewer program but some 8 to 10 add’l files to make the PPViewer run and display the shows. The added layer of complexity and file size has made downloading the PPS not very practical. DIRECTIONS: If you DO NOT have PowerPoint installed on your PC Use the order forms below to order a CD by mail with instruction sheet included. Be aware that with the Show version, you can not edit or make changes to the program. These files are, NOMADS Blue back.pps and NOMADS White back.pps DIRECTIONS for Download: If you have PowerPoint installed on your PC Double click on the version (s) you want in the table below and the download process should start automatically. These files are big enough 590 - 601KB, that it will take a few minutes for the download to complete...if 'nothing is happening'...look at your browser status bar at the bottom...it will tell you what is going on. Older Browsers - If you have an older browser, IE 4.0 or 5.0, your PC may prompt you to Open or Save the file. Pick SAVE and decide where you want the file saved so you can find it later! Once the download is complete, you can simply double click on the file name and it will launch PowerPoint if you picked a PPT file. Once the first slide is up, simply click your mouse to advance thru the show. At the end of the show, you should get a black screen with a prompt at the top that says 'click to end the show'. If for some reason you need to exit sooner, just hit the Esc key to exit the slide show.
Newer Browsers - If you have IE 6.0. . .the program may download into the browser and start up automatically. Click thru the slides to the end to make sure the download is complete, then (in the browser), click on File - Save As, and select a folder where you want your copy saved for later use. When done, click the browser's BACK button, top left corner, and back-up to the web page (may take a couple of Back clicks). Repeat the download process if you want both the White and the Blue background presentations. Click Here for a page on Directions for use. Any questions, send an email to Rudy Morris, webmaster - morrisrc@att.net NEW Kiosk version - if you want to set up a stand-alone show for a booth or kiosk, we now have two KIOSK versions: A) PPT kiosk version has to be opened in PowerPoint and started as a slide show, then it runs automatically and loops at the end without you having to click the mouse to advance to the next bullet item or advance to the next slide. Exit the show by clicking on the ESC key. B) PPS kiosk version is started as a SHOW version by double clicking your mouse on the PPViewer32.exe file. The PPViewer program will start and display a dialog box where you can select which PPT presentation you would like to show. The kiosk version is equipped with auto-timing and a loop at the end, so the show will run automatically without you having to click the mouse to advance to the next bullet item or advance to the next slide. Exit the show by clicking on the ESC key. NEW INFO - If you don't have PowerPoint on your PC, use the order form to order a CD-Rom version with instructions. The presentations are identical except for the Blue vs. White backgrounds. We hope these new formats will allow more people to use the presentations to help spread the word for NOMADS.
